Breastfeeding is not an easy thing. I know before even having children I had always said I was going to try to breastfeed my children and do as much as I can to produce milk. Fortunatley, I was very lucky and was able to nurse all 3 of my children. Where I know for some mom’s it’s not as easy. This article explains it all.
Ashley Clifford is a mom who struggled nursing her first child, when she had her second child she said she was not going to give up this time and then you know it, she was able to produce so much more that she is donating her milk now.
“This picture represents many sleepless nights, especially from the first couple weeks, 295 ounces of extra milk, five blocked ducts, and a 17-and-a-half pound healthy, growing baby girl,” she captioned the powerful snapshot. “Today I’m donating about 200 ounces for the first time and the feeling I’m having is hard to explain.”
Although Ashley was really excited to donate her milk with all the hard time and effort put into it, she found it bitter-sweet to donate it away.
“It’s a mix of excitement and love, but at the same time, I’m having some reservations, only because nursing and pumping is HARD!” she wrote. “I feel kind of protective of this BUT that isn’t going to stop me from giving some of this away.”
