kids’ essentials for summer beach/pool fun

Everything that surrounded the July 4th long weekend – the bbq’s, fireworks, parades – it may already be a distant memory for a lot of us. But don’t worry, there’s definitely more pool time and beach weekends in our futures! With that in mind, we can’t let another second pass by without sharing our summer beach/pool essentials broken down by skincare, beachwear, gear, toys, and water-friendly snacks. You’ll need everything from a shade tent for beach fun to sun hats. Of course, you want your little ones to have fun at the beach, but protecting them from the sun should be a priority too.

Skincare:

1) Sunscreen should be generously applied prior to going outside every single day and reapplied as needed while you are out, not just when you’re going into the water. But without question, it’s one of the most important things to take to the beach or pool. These are things to consider to protect your little ones while out:

• Use a broad spectrum sun screen (UVA/UVB) with an SPF of 30 or higher (our picks for little ones and for mommas too)
• Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before going out
• Liberally reapply every two hours and immediately after getting out of the water
