When I was pregnant, it didn’t ever feel like I missed wine a whole lot, but there were definitely certain dinners or moments I thought, “Ah, how nice it would be to unwind with my husband again over a glass of California Pinot Noir.”
Our friends Maya and Kunjal up in San Fran know and enjoy their wines like we do… and pre-baby, we would make it up to Napa and Sonoma at least once a year to indulge and try the newest and oldest collections with them and other friends. Kunjal recommended Navarro Vineyards Grape Juice to us when we were with them during my pregnancy and my husband remembered that, so for my 30th birthday surprise party, he ordered a case so I too could partake in the clank of birthday cheers with everyone else’s glasses.
What is great about it is that most the non-alcoholic beers out there do contain a little amount of alcohol sometimes and since this is grape juice, it is not the same so even kids can drink it! It is also not as sugary and tastes fruit fresh and flavorful. They say this is because they cold stabilize it and while it is sweet, it isn’t as sweet as grape juice itself. They make a few types: the Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer and Verjus. I loved the taste of the Pinot Noir and am sure the others are great as well. It even makes a great present for a baby shower or for a momma to be 🙂
The Navarro Vineyards is in northern California, and their family has been growing grapes, making wine and producing non-alcoholic grape juices in the Anderson Valley in coastal Mendocino since 1974. They are really small and I like supporting family owned, local businesses and you can find their wine and juices on their site.
Let me know if you try it out!
