Lately, all I have been thinking about is spring break…and the spring break 2017 momma essentials I need. We have an upcoming resort vacation to warm waters and white sands and I don’t want to last minute the shopping for it. This means, trying on and buying bathing suits and getting my feet ready too. While there’s other things I need to get, today I’m sharing just three major must haves for this spring break and the warmer weather in general.
Ok so I’m starting with bathing suits. This has and always will be a big challenge. I think most women would agree and after you have babies, no matter what diet, no matter the workouts…it always feels like it’s so hard to get back to where you were. I have accepted to a certain degree that without some sort of major intervention, it will be hard to lose that post baby belly. I am getting there but not quite there yet. And I have also accepted that I may never be comfortable in a two piece bikini either, with two enthusiastic boys who are always pulling and tugging their momma into the water. This is all ok with me. But what’s not, is not feeling good in a bathing suit. It’s only then that you can let lose and enjoy the water and most importantly, your family time.
So back to the bathing suit…I think I found an amazing find. I love Amazon (which momma doesn’t?!) and had been searching their site for a few days. I put several things into my basket and ended up buying this one piece last minute in addition to a couple of Nanette Lepore and Trina Turk swimsuits and some high waisted bottoms…which by the way are the WORSE thing if you are dealing with a post baby belly. The only thing that I ended up loving was the one piece by La Blanca. It is so super flattering – the rouging in the front and on the sides is perfection to hide problem areas. The almost full coverage bottom and the slightly padded top are great. Also, the lingerie straps make it feel a bit sexy, too. But in a way that is still very appropriate for fam time at the pool. The last thing I want is to feel frumpy and this does the exact opposite. The material feels light yet supportive all at the same time. I got the black but I am tempted to the get the green, which reminds me of the pantone color of the year…greenery. It also comes in a sapphire blue, which would be pretty on all skin tones too. Love this suit. Cannot say it enough. If you are in the market, want something practical yet stylish and at a good price point, you NEED to look at this La Blanca Island Goddess one piece.
The next thing I need to address to get resort ready, are my feet. I don’t know about you guys, but my heels even after a pedicure with that extra treatment, they just never come out super soft. Maybe I don’t get pedicures often enough, but like most mommas I know…just don’t have that time. Well when it’s vacation time, you don’t have a choice and you want your feet to look good. Recently, I came across this product and I Instagrammed it immediately while perusing the aisles of Target and we got so much positive response to it. It’s called Baby Foot and it’s an exfoliant foot peel. My sister in law recently tried it and just hearing and seeing her experience made me Amazon this one over asap. Truthfully, I have not tried it yet…but based on the reviews, and again my sister in law’s “soft as the bottom of a newborn baby” feet…I KNOW this is not going to let me down. The package says to give yourself a total of about a week from start to finish…your feet will peel for a few days after the product is applied. But after that, it’s literally smooth sailing. I CANNOT wait to try this. I will be instagramming this entire process…so stay tuned in the next few weeks.
And finally, I know that green is the color of 2017 but for nails, light pinks, nudes and colors with a bit of grey purple are so in too. The great thing about this color range is that it goes with literally anything you wear, brights, whites and blacks equally. I love this one by OPI called “Staying Neutral” and another current favorite is “Instinct” by Urban Decay. I am seriously obsessed. I will be wearing these all season long. I think these nudes are so transferable to so many styles, colors and anything that I’ll be wearing while on vaca. Once my feet are ready to go, my toes will be this beautiful purple greige shade. Can’t wait.
So there you go. If you’re about to head out for some fun in the sun whether on a resort or at your neighborhood pool or you just want to get spring and summer ready, check out my top three momma essentials and you will be ready to GO!
