Cuchara, a mexican restaurant in Houston Texas, has started handing out illustrated cards to customers that come in with families to control kids behavior. The card has a colorful image of a family eating peacefully with the following text:
“Children at Cuchara don’t run or wander around the restaurant. They stay seated and ask their parents to take them to the restroom. They don’t scream, throw tantrum or touch walls, murals, windows or other patrons. They are respectful!”
The restaurant recently had $1500 in damages after a child scratched one of it’s walls that had hand pantings by a artist from Mexico City. The restaurant says reactions from families have been overwhelmingly supportive. Out of 200 responses there were bout 3 negative comments where families said they would never go back there to eat. They have received numerous positive comments on their facebook page. They have received comments with customers saying it’s not too much to ask them to make sure they children are well behaved.
