the secret ingredient to getting your kids to eat a bowl of salad

When I tell people that my 2 year old son loves salad they look at me like I am crazy! Some parents have really asked if I put chocolate or fruit snacks in their salad, which of course is not the case. I tried many variations of salad but I could never find one that Ayven would eat. The consistency of the lettuce threw him off or the chunks of green peppers would make him spit it right back out. I finally came up with the right way of making it so he wouldn’t pay attention to all those veggies in the salad. What’s my secret?

Salad

I include an ingredient that is high in antioxidants, fat free and cholesterol free:

Newman’s Own Organic Dried Cranberries

My family prefers the Newmans brand because it is very low in sugar and the cranberries are very moist.  Great to eat just by themselves also.  Along with the dried cranberries, I also chop the salad up very very small so that he won’t be able to distinguish all the different textures. This is very important because the minute they are thrown off by a texture, they will lose their excitement to eat.  This gives me the opportunity to put any vegetables I want without him knowing 🙂 Here is the recipe I used. I have recommended this to a few other moms and their kids now love salad so try it out!
