So I love Halloween and all the fun costumes, decorations and festive feel to the day.
What I don’t love as a health conscious momma and dentist?
Yup…the bags full of candy.
And I will admit, I am that house that offers healthy candy options and toys and games! Growing up, my dentist parents and I would hand out candy alternatives like baggies full of coloring books, crayons, healthy items that surprisingly, kids loved. But I get it, and enjoyed saying trick or treat fully as a kid. I know that part of the real treat in trick or treating is the obvious: candy. So here are 5 awesome ways you can reduce your kids’ sugar intake next week and take away those treats without tears, check it out:
By the way, in the video, I talk about 2 programs that you may want to check the links out for:
1. The Dentist Buy Back Program: http://www.halloweencandybuyback.com
2.Operation Gratitude For Our U.S. Troops Overseas: http://opgrat.wordpress.com/2013/07/18/halloween-candy-for-the-troops/
So momma, how do you reuse or get rid of that candy? I would love to hear below:)
