10 tips on washing your hands

December 2nd-8th is National Hand Washing Awareness Week. It’s that time of the year where you get the sniffles and flu, so from preventing that here is a list of ways to keep your hands and your little one’s germs free.

  • Wash your hands when they are dirty and always before eating.

  • Always wash your hand in warm water and use antibacterial soap, as this will help get rid of the dirt and bacteria.

  • Rub your hands with soap for a minimum of 15 seconds or sing the “Happy Birthday Song” (this is what I tell my kids to do every time).

  • After washing your hands, use your towel to turn off the faucet.

  • After washing your hands, dry your hands completely, if hands remain wet, there are higher chances of germs reoccurring again.

  • Hand washing is washing away germs, not killing them.

  • Supervise your little one while they wash their hands.

  • If a sink is not available to wash your hands make sure to use anti-bacterial hand sanitizer.

  • Washing your hands throughout the day helps keep germs away.

  • Use liquid or bar soap to wash your hands.
