when daddy takes over

We love all of you daddies out there.  Really, we do.  You know we do.  We appreciate you and everything that you do for our families.  And when you’re in charge, that may mean we really needed a break.  But when you’re in charge, that also means some hysterically funny stuff is going on with the kids.  Read on to see what really goes down when daddy’s taking over for the day.

When daddy takes over: 

Brushing your child’s teeth went from a 2 minute job to a 30 second job.  And sometimes, it doesn’t happen at all!

Afternoon snack time means those items that are easily accessible, ie…located on the front row of the pantry and usually come straight out of a box.

Capturing fun and special moments on camera is definitely out the door.

Putting on clothes like rainbow leggings with an animal print dress, just because daddy thinks his girl looks cute in everything, doesn’t mean fashion faux pas works!  Clothes are often on backwards and along with socks are mismatched, tights are ripped.  How many dads out there have sent dressed their kids to go out in their pj’s?!

Kids’ hair is out of control, especially the girls.  Somehow, using a rubber band is the hardest of challenges.

The diaper bag or something is usually forgotten when he’s taking the little ones to park or out somewhere.  Of course this means, a  drive all the way back home to get a diaper, wipes and a new change of clothes for the blowout that just happened.

Carrying her around the house, both of them with hoodies on, and playing old school rap music so they can be gangsters together.

Bath time usually equals a quick dunk in the tub with a ten second towel dry.  What happened to splish splashing and play time with rubber ducky?!

Somehow nap time is out the door…often times replaced with music time and playing drums – and even though the baby can fall asleep no problem with mommy and the nanny…he or she somehow just wouldn’t go to sleep with daddy.  Baby just wanted to play with daddy which sometimes means mommy gets to deal with one cranky kid when she’s back in charge!
